Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in the year 1997  to offer  four  year degree with an initial intake of 60 students. It has since then grown significantly by spreading its academic activities in offering courses at Undergraduate level as well as Post Graduate level. The department faculty is actively involved in guiding research scholars leading to UG, PG and  Ph.D. degrees.

Currently, the department admits 180 students for the four year Undergraduate program and 36 for the two year Post Graduate courses (Thermal Engineering  and  CAD/CAM ) in regular stream. The Department received research and modernization grants from UGC, DRDO, AICTE and TEQIP. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded.

To meet the required Academic standards, quality instruction to students is imparted by the motivated and qualified faculty members providing good academic insights. To provide a higher degree of perspective in the concepts of subject content, Computers and Audio- Visual equipment are extensively used. Students are especially trained to meet the current industrial requirements.

In order to keep pace with changing needs of educational standards, the department reviews and revises the course syllabus every year. In the process, the courses underwent many changes over the years thereby making them more relevant to the requirements of higher education, research and industry.

B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering is accredited five times  by NBA and is recognized as a Research Center by the JNTUH University Hyderabad. Many students are pursuing higher studies in leading universities in India and abroad. The Average percentage of campus placement for mechanical engineering students is 65%.

HOD Message: It’s just that there is no life for mankind without Mechanical Engineering; It’s there everywhere. My message is that Mechanical Engineers always remember Vivekananda saying “an illiterate football player on ground is better than a pundit who read hundreds of books on football playing in the library.

The Department received research and modernization grants from UGC, DRDO, AICTE and TEQIP. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded.
