Programme Description

PEO 1: Graduates will attain a strong foundation in Basic Sciences, Engineering Sciences and fundamentals of mathematics through which they acquire knowledge and abilities to analyze, design and develop solutions using Modern tools which will help them to be employable.

PEO 2: Apply knowledge of disruptive areas of computer science and Data Science using modern tools to find solutions for the societal and complex problems with sensitivity towards health, safety, legal, environmental and sustainable issues which help them to be globally employable.

PEO 3: Graduates shall acquire skills to conduct investigation of complex problems to propose appropriate solutions and develop attitude for lifelong learning which will empower them to pursue higher studies, Research and Development.

PEO 4: Graduates will acquire research temperament to pursue higher studies in reputed national and international institutes and become life-long learners.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of Engineering Mathematics, Basic Sciences, Engineering Fundamentals, and Engineering Specialization to the solution of complex Information Science and Engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems of Information Science and Engineering reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of Engineering Mathematics and Engineering Sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex Information Science problems and design system components or processes of Information Science and Engineering that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions in Information Science and Engineering.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations in Information Science and Engineering.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice in Information Science and Engineering.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in Information Science and Engineering in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the Information Science and Engineering practice.
  9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex Information Science engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change

BTech in CSE with specialization in Data Science (DS) is a new, exponentially growing field which consists of a set of tools and techniques used to extract useful information from data. The emphasis is on core data science subjects along with the related computational mathematics, statistics, and computer science subjects. The program introduces students to the various application domains like finance, business, and healthcare wherein data science can be used to make informed decisions. The programme encompasses data Science as an interdisciplinary, problem-solving oriented subject that learns to apply scientific techniques to practical problems. 

With a cutting-edge combination of machine learning, analytics, and visualization technologies, students will be able to build intelligent machines, software, or applications The main goal of artificial intelligence (AI) and Data Science is to program computers to use example data or experience to solve a given problem.

This Program is best for students seeking expertise in Data Science and Data base management systems which will help them to take advantage of the new employment possibilities world-wide.
To Prepare graduates who can plan, design and manipulate the data with AI and machine learning mechanisms to build artificial intelligence enabled systems which mimic the human brain.

The first two years of this program begins with a set of introductory courses, like Mathematics, physics, English, computer languages (C,C++,Java), Database Management Systems, AI and DS which provide students with a firm foundation in mathematics, computer science, database systems as well as communication skills. These courses include weekly labs in which students use state-of-the art software development techniques to create solutions to interesting problems.

The last two years of study focuses on the concepts and techniques used in the design and development of advanced techniques in Data Science. In addition, students choose from a rich set of electives, which covers skills in demand. These advanced courses give broad opening for research and help them to choose specialization in their higher studies. A generous allotment of open electives allows students to learn foreign languages like French, German, Spanish; and it includes computing with a business focus. 

Students in this program pursue an inter-disciplinary course of study that combines strong foundation in computer science with a focus on interdisciplinary areas. This program is designed for students who seek to blend their computer science abilities with skills in demand and skills specific to Data Science domain to solve Societal problems in that domain.

Having completed this course, a student is prepared to work independently within a well-structured design frame work in the job and for higher studies in Computer Science, Data Science and allied domains

Dr. MD JAFFAR SADIQ

Associate Professor & Head CSE (DS)
Dr. MD JAFFAR SADIQ, has done his B.Tech, from KU in June,2003, and M.Tech from,JNTUH in 2010, Ph.D from JNTUH in 2020. Presently working as Associate Professor and Head of the department Data Science (CSE) . He has more than17 years of teaching experience. He has10 publications in reputed journals like Scoopus, Springer, UGC Journals and 2 patents with one granted patent. His areas of interest includes Machine Learning, Data Science, Image Processing. ‘

The department has grown to almost 2 faculty members, who provide leadership and expertise in several areas of computer science and engineering. Equally the faculty are encouraged to participate in the faculty development programmes conducted in the other premiere institutes to enhance their knowledge and technical skills. I am extremely happy to mention that the faculty and students of CSE (DS) department are involved in the innovation and research.
