Outcome of TEQIP Phase -I
I. Salient Features
TNA well perceived. FSDP appreciated by SPFU and Dr. A.K. Ghose, NPIU representative as best of the TEQIP institutions he has visited.
Cyclowash, an Innovation is short listed by NPIU at national level.
Exceeded the targets in production of high quality graduates, placements, and research publications, M.Techs / Ph.Ds. Faculty.
Overall stakeholders’ satisfaction is above the AP State and National level average, improved further in the 7th audit.
Innovation and creativity extensively promoted and established as institutional culture.
MOU with Cherlapally industrial association which consists of 400 industries, which enabled to interact for mutual benefit.
Management capacity Building – Six senior faculty of our institution attended training programs organized by premier management institutions viz. ISB, Hyderabad, MDI, Gurgaon. They have disseminated the knowledge to other faculty of the institution by organizing two in-house programs to around 60 faculty members. Excellent work culture has been established and implemented in the college as greatly appreciated by Mentors and Auditors.

II. Performance on Key indicators
Our institution has complied with CIP on key indicators and exceeded the targets in many cases
Academic Outputs:
Increase in Research Publications: Target 12. Achieved 40 in journals. In conferences- 119.
Patents: Target 3 and achieved 3. Two (2) more are submitted for consideration.
FDP – Qualification improvement: M.Tech target – 20. Achieved -49. Completed – 17. PhD: Target – 15. Achieved – 32. Nine completed and 23 in progress.
Increase in Post graduate students: Target M.Tech courses-4. Started 6.
Target for intake-72. Achieved 103.
The number of high quality under graduates in all disciplines increased by 400%.
Faculty members sent for training and conferences is 145 against the target of 108 made in CIP. No. of Staff members sent out for training is 28, in-house training 41, totaling to 69 as against the target of 45 made in CIP. Average duration of the training is 5 days.
New labs, Central facilities, Modernization of labs, Removal of obsolescence.
Increase in Innovative Outputs and Technology Development: Target 4. Five best innovations were submitted to NPIU. “Cyclowash” is selected by NPIU as one of the best innovations.
Placement record is increased by 250%.
Increase in Research students: Target 15, Achieved 36. Eleven completed and 25 in progress.
Consultancy: Consultancy is slowly picking up.
III. Identification of best practices/ innovations within institutional reform and education quality
Inculcating Spirit of Innovation in Students and Faculty : Great emphasis laid to establishment of better innovativeness and creativity. Extensively publicized and promoted by Innovative and Robotics student clubs etc, organizing several workshops and competitions from 2004. It is well appreciated from all sectors with ever increasing industries and MNCs participation. One such program is “Igniting Spirit of Innovation in Faculty”, a national level conference organized in association with SPFU, AP.
IV. Identification of best practices for Services to Community
Our college is associated with the Community by giving trainings to them in different areas which helps them in earning for their livelihood. Number of programmes were conducted for unemployed youth.
Service to Ministry of Employment and Labour and Ministry of Home, Govt. of A.P.:
Conduct of training program to District Employment Officers and Principals of District Industry Centers in Soft Skills and identification of skills in demand in the industry to enable them to be effective employment generation scheme of Govt. of A.P.
As a case study, a comprehensive survey was carried out by our faculty in Cherlapally Industrial area on the needs for skilled and unskilled manpower and the report was made available to Ministry of Employment and Labor as a model to carry similar surveys. This is done to help the Employment Generation Scheme of Govt. of A.P.
Computer awareness and soft skills development program was conducted for the benefit of police officers of Commissionarate of Cyberabad on their request. This enabled them to get familiarized with application of computers in police dept and also to effectively deal with the mammoth responsibility of conducting world military games in Hyderabad. This program was appreciated by the police officers and Commissioner of Cyberabad.

To create an environment in which Engineering Institutions selected under the programme can achieve their own set of targets for excellence and sustain the same with autonomy and accountability.
To support development plans including synergistic Networking and Services to Community and economy of competitively selected institutions for achieving higher standards.
To improve efficiency and effectiveness of the technical education management system in the States and institutions selected under the Programme.
