Metrology Lab

Metrology Lab

Overview

  • The laboratory course is aimed to provide practical exposure to the students with regard to the determination of the amount of heat exchange in various modes of heat transfer including condensation & boiling for several geometries.
  • Outcomes: The student should be able to evaluate the amount of heat exchange for plane, cylindrical & spherical geometries and should be able to compare the performance of extended surfaces and heat exchangers Metrology and Instrumentation Lab:
  • Measurement is the process or the result of determining the ratio of a physical quantity, such as a length, time, temperature etc., to a unit of measurement, such as the meter, second or degree Celsius. The science of measurement is called metrology.
  • M&I Lab deals with Measurement of physical data
  • Metrology includes all theoretical and practical aspects of measurement such as Basic experimental laboratory measurements, such as measurement of temperature.
  • Calibration, elementary electrical and analogue and digital electronic principles.
  • Instruments for pressure force, torque, time interval, velocity, acceleration, strain, position, flow and temperature.
