About the Department

Welcome to the vibrant and thriving Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at our esteemed college. Established in 1997 with an initial intake of 40 students in the undergraduate program of B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering, our department has evolved into a powerhouse of academic excellence and innovation. At present the department has an intake of 510 students in B.Tech CSE and 12 students in M. Tech CSE. The department has comprises of a dedicated team of 63 faculty members, with 19 holding Ph.D. credentials, 6 professors, 10 Associate professors and 47 Assistant professors.

B.Tech-CSE program was first accredited by the NBA (AICTE) in 2003 for 3 years. The program was accredited consecutively for 3 years and recently in 2022 for 3 years.

Over the years, we have grown exponentially, both in terms of student strength and academic offerings. Today, the CSE department stands as one of the pillars of our institution, boasting a diverse and talented pool of students and a distinguished team of faculty members. Our faculty members are not just educators; they are mentors, researchers, and industry experts dedicated to nurturing the next generation of computer scientists and engineers. Department has committed well qualified and professionally active faculty members specialized in emerging areas like AI, ML, Cyber Security, Data Science, and Data Mining filing patents and publishing research papers in quality journals worldwide. A few faculty members are internationally certified.

The department encourages students to explore new technologies by conducting student development programs, guest lectures, value added courses and certified programs. The department is also organizing many more activities to groom their career activities like hackathons, poster presentations, project expo, paper publications and many more to make them industry ready. The students actively participate in club activities and sports activities.

The CSE department has reached new heights by securing 99% of placements in top notch companies with a highest package of 38 lpa and an average package of 7.1 lpa. One of the best practices that the department of CSE engages in is thorough encouragement to undergo MOOCs certification program. We have a dedicated lab for NPTEL and faculty members to guide the students.

Our Mission
  1. To prepare Computer Science and Engineering graduates to be a lifelong learner with competence in basic science & engineering and professional core, multidisciplinary areas , with continuous update of the syllabus, so that they can succeed in industry as an individual and as a team or to pursue higher studies or to become an entrepreneur.

  2. To enable the graduates to use modern tools, design and create novelty based products required for the society and communicate effectively with professional ethics.

  3. To continuously engage in research and projects development with financial management to promote scientific temper in the graduates and attain sustainability.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • Graduates will have a strong foundation in fundamentals of mathematics, basic sciences, computer science and engineering sciences with abilities to analyze problems, design and development of optimal solutions to address societal problems.
  • Apply knowledge of diverse and emerging areas of computer science with modern tools to solve the complex problems; also be sensitive towards health, safety, legal, environmental and sustainable issues to be professionally competent and globally employable.
  • Develop an ability to work effectively as an individual/team member or a leader or pursue entrepreneurial skills with good communications and ethical ideologies, practice project and finance management skills.
  • Acquire research temperament to pursue higher studies in reputed national and international institutes and become life-long learners.

Program Outcomes (POs)

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change

On completion of the B.Tech.(Computer Science & Engineering) program the graduates will be able to

  • Apply the knowledge of computer architecture, software development life cycle, networking and database concepts with emphasis on data structures and algorithms to analyze the engineering problems.
  • Design and develop programs and projects using software engineering practices, mathematical models, data mining techniques and algorithms to solve the societal problems with modern tools, web technologies and appropriate programming languages.
  • Solve complex engineering problems using disruptive technologies like Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security and Blockchain.

The Program Educational Objectives, PEOs of an engineering degree program are the statements that describe the expected achievements of graduates in their career, and what the graduates are expected to perform and achieve during the first few years after graduation.

  • Graduates will have a strong foundation in fundamentals of mathematics, basic sciences, computer science and engineering sciences with abilities to analyze problems, design and development of optimal solutions to address societal problems.
  • Apply knowledge of  diverse and emerging  areas of computer science with modern tools to solve the complex problems; also be sensitive towards health, safety legal, environmental and sustainable issues to be professionally competent and globally employable.
  • Develop an ability to work effectively as an individual/team member or a leader or pursue entrepreneurial skills with good communications and ethical ideologies, practice project and finance management skills.
  • Acquire research temperament to pursue higher studies in reputed national and international institutes and become life-long learniers.
  • Graduates will have a strong foundation in fundamentals of mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and basic engineering knowledge with abilities for analysis of the problem and to design, development of solutions and to arrive at an optimal solution using modern tools which help them to be employable.

  • Graduates should have abilities to conduct investigation of complex problems and attitude for lifelong learning skills which will enable them to pursue advanced studies, Research and Development.
  • The graduates must be aware of the engineering professional ethics, the impact of engineering profession on the society and the need for environmental protection and sustainable development.
  • An ability to apply knowledge of basic sciences, mathematics and engineering in the area of Computer Science.
  • An ability to design, implement and evaluate a software or software / hardware system to meet the desired needs within realistic constraints such as space and time.
  • An ability to use the techniques,  skills,  and modern engineering tools such as software testing tools,  data warehousing and mining tools,  necessary for practice as a CSE professional.
  • An ability to analyze and solve open-ended problems using mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science theory in the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices and to arrive at an optimal solution.
  • To understand principles of engineering, entrepreneurship with emphasis on women, and financial management through relevant management courses to demonstrate knowledge in the conceptualization and realizing group projects, mini & main projects.
  • An ability to function effectively as individual and as a member or leader in diverse team in achieving multidisciplinary tasks.
  • Learn to communicate effectively on complex engineering activities through report writing, experimental work, assignments, seminars, group projects, mini & main projects.

As the Head of the Department, I am privileged to lead a team of distinguished faculty members who are not only educators but also mentors and researchers and experts in their respective fields.Our curriculum is meticulously designed and undergoes periodic updates to align with the ever-evolving demands of the software industry. This ensures that our graduates are well-equipped with the latest skills and knowledge, making them valuable contributors to the workforce.
