Eminent Professors of Mechanical Engineering Department

Dr.T.Ch.Siva Reddy

Professor & HOD, ME Department.

Dr.T.Ch.Siva Reddy obtained Ph.D. degree in Mechanical engineering from OU, Hyderabad in 2007 and  M.Tech (Thermal Engineering) from University College of Engineering, JNTUH, Hyderabad in 1993. He was awarded GATE scholarship by MHRD during his post graduation study. He has more than 23 years of experience in teaching, research and consulting in the area of thermal engineering. He has dealt with many subjects during his teaching like Thermodynamics, Thermal Engineering, Fluid mechanics, R & AC and Heat transfer.

His research papers was awarded as the best paper in Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power conference 2003 at IIT Roorkee. He was instrumental in securing MODROBS grants of AICTE for Thermal Engineering and Production technology lab for the department. He has also successfully completed two research projects sanctioned by AICTE in the area of Experimental and CFD studies of centrifugal compressors. Presently he is executing consultancy project of DRDL, Hyderabad in the area of fluidized combustion bed. Dr. Siva Reddy in his credit published many papers in the International/ National Journals and Conferences. His papers have appeared in reputed journals such as IMechE, Springer and conferences such as FMFP. He is a Ph.D supervisor for several research scholars in the area of Alternate fuels.


Dr. M. Kumaraiah

Professor, ME Department.

Dr. M. Kumaraiah completed his M.Tech (Machine Tools) from REC Warangal and worked for 12 years in various Government Polytechnics and joined as Assistant Professor in Osmania University. He was chairman Board of Studies & Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Osmania University. He was the Director Information Dissemination centre Osmania University. Dean college development council OU. He served as member Executive council JNTU, Member Janma Bhoomi Program of Government of A.P. VC’s nominee for EAMCET Govt. A.P. Member Selection committee of Defence Research & Development organization.

He worked as the Principal of various engineering colleges. Dr. Kumaraiah gor Best Research paper award at all India Machine Tool Design conference at IIT Kharagpur. He also got 1st rank in M.Tech at REC Warangal. He guided 16 scholars for the award of Ph.D in different areas of mechanical engineering and published 95 research papers in various International & national Journal and conferences. His research interest includes production engineering, solar energy, machine design etc.

Presently he is working as a professor in ME department, Dean Academics & Controler of Examinations in Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology.


Dr. T.S.R Murthy

Professor, ME Department.

Dr. T S R Murthy obtained his BE (Mech) from South Gujarat University with first rank in 1971 and M Tech (Mech) from IIT Madras(1973) with second rank and Ph.D from IIT Madras(1983). He also did MBA(IGNOU) in 2002. He worked in CMTI Bangalore an R & D institute for years in different positions (APO to Division Head(R & D)). Then he worked in RJIT Bangaloreas HOD (2008-2009) and in KITPS Moradabadas Principal(2009-2014), before Joining SNIST.

He had a patent No. 248177. He published around 80 papers (19 in International journals, 48 in international/National Conferences Proceedings, 10 in National seminars and 2 invited lectures). He was a UNIDO fellow during 1986-1987 and worked at CAD/CAM Inc., Dayton. Ohio, USA. He also visited UK and Singapore to present research papers and also visited different R & D organizations, all this gave him good exposure about academics. He was a referee to many international Journals, chaired sessions in AIMTDR and COPEN. He received Gold medal from South Gujarat University(1971), Received IAEC Golden Jubilee award for research in Metrology (1986).


Dr. G. S. Reddy

Professor, ME Department.

G. S. Reddy obtained B. Tech., degree from Regional Engineering College, Warangal;M. Tech., from IIT, Kanpur and Ph. D. from IIT, BHU, Varanasi. He did post-doctoral research work at the Virginia Tech., Blacksburg USA and University of Cincinnati USA.

Dr. G. S. Reddy prior to joining the Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, he worked as a Scientist at the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory Hyderabad for 20 years on areas of metal working, squeeze casting, investment castings of gas turbine engine parts, composite materials and numerical simulation of solidification processes. He moved to US to work in Ion-bond Cleveland and MHI Inc., Cincinnati  for 14 years. During this period he has obtained 11 US patents related to processes and nanomaterials. He worked as Principal Investigator on four sponsored research projects funded by the US National Science Foundation and US Department of Energy. He has returned to India in 2012 and worked for 3 years as Professor at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. During this period he taught core courses at B. Tech. and M. Tech. level, established computer simulation facility and organized two Workshops. He has over 40 publications and 11 US patents to his credit.

He has joined SNIST in June 2015 and teaches Metallurgy and Materials Science, Manufacturing Processes, Nanocomposites and Characterization of materials. He is pursuing computer simulation of casting processes.


Dr. D.Kondayya

Professor, ME Department.

Dr.D.Kondayya is a faculty of Mechanical Engineering with over 15 years of teaching experience. He did his Ph.D. in the area of Advanced Machining from Mechanical Engineering department of JNTUK, Kakinada in 2012, Production Engineering from Faculty of Engineering & Technology, MSU Baroda in 1996. He received GATE scholarship from MHRD during his post graduation study. Prior to teaching he served as Junior Engineer in Steel Melt shop division of ESSAR Steels Ltd, Surat for 3 years.  

Dr.Kondayya is a member of Institution of Engineers, India. He has published research papers in several International Journals and Conferences. His research work has appeared in International journals like, International journal of advanced manufacturing technology, International journal of computer integrated manufacturing etc and international conferences like AIMTDR. His teaching areas are Manufacturing processes, Conventional and Advanced Machine tools, Operations Research, CAD/CAM. His research interests are Evolutionary algorithms, Advanced Machining Methods and Optimization.


Dr. A. Purushotham

Professor, ME Department.

Prof.Allam Purushotham,is currently Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Ghatkesar, Hyderabad. After Post graduation in Design and Production Engineering from N.I.T.Warangal , He  served as Assistant  and Associate professor in K.I.T.S: Ramtek and Vasavi College of Engineering: Hyderabad for a period of  17 years. After obtaining a Ph.D. from Osmania University: Hyderabad, he completed one major Sponsered R&D Projects on Photoelasticity stress Analysis on Composites besides  several internal funded projects in the specialization: Robotics, Automobile and stress Analysis. Dr A.Purushotham has been teaching Machine Design and its related subjects such as FEM, Vibrations,Theory of machines etc. to the students of U.G. and P.G. for several years now. He has also written over  50 research papers in his field of Ph.D.area of specialization: Robotics and M.Tech. area of specialization FMS. Prof Purushotham being a member of BOS of few Autonomous institution, is actively involved in curriculum development, NBA etc. To enable practical understanding of the subjects , he developed Application Oreinted Teaching Material in Machine Design , FEM and FEM Basics with ANSYS . He is actively associated with  students co curricula activitites such as SAE,ISTE,Roboveda etc. and delivered Expert lectures in various SDPs  and FDPs.

Tech (Manufacturing Technology), REC Calicut, B.Tech (Mech Engg) Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, 22 years of total experience (13 years teaching and 9 years of industry & research), Overseas experience in Teaching (Ethiopia) and Industry (USA), Published 56 papers in various international and national journals and conferences with high impact factor and citations. As Principal investigator completed an AICTE-RPS scheme project on “Development of Aluminium Silicon Nano alloyed materials”, Grant-in-aid Sanctioned: Rs. 375000/-

Research Interests: Multi-objective Optimization & Simulation of Manufacturing Processes, Machine Learning Applications, Six Sigma Projects, Design of Experiments, Sustainable Manufacturing.


Dr. Y.Venkata Narayana

Professor, ME Department.

Dr.Y.Venkata Narayana is a  faculty of Mechanical Engineering with over 24 years total experience  (6 Years Industrial + 18 Years Teaching). He did his Ph.D. in the area of  Buckling of Laminated Composite Cylindrical Shells from  Mechanical Engineering of  JNTU Hyderabad, M.Tech in Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing in Mechanical Engineering from JNTU Hyderabad with first class with distinction.

Dr. Y.Venkata Narayana has been teaching Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing(CAD/CAM) subject and its related subjects such as CAD/CAM, FEM, Mechanics of Solids, Advanced  CAM, Flexible Manufacturing Systems, CAPP and  Engineering Graphics, etc. to U.G. and P.G students. Prior to teaching, he has industrial Experience in N.R.B.Bearings Ltd. Hyderabad and  M/s. Allen Reinforced Plastics Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad. Published 19 papers in national and international journals and around  9 Papers in national and international conferences.

Dr. G Konda Reddy,

Associate Professor, ME Department.

Dr. Gondi Konda Reddy obtained his Ph.D. from JNTUH in the year 2014, M. E from O.U. College of Engineering in the year 2005 with first class with distinction and B. E from Mysore University with first class in the year 1992.He started his career in the industry and then switched over to teaching in the year 1998 following his passion.He worked two and half years at Kakatiya University Engineering College and joined Sreenidhi in the year 2001as an Assistant Professor.He is serving as Associate Professor since the year 2014.In addition to teaching, he is also the in-charge of Mechanics of Solids Lab and Departmental Library. He was awarded with the ‘Best Teacher Award’at various occasions in the college. He is also the Life member of ISTE and a reviewer for the journals IASET and IJERT.

He has attended 18 summer/winter schools and faculty development programmes. He has published 34 papers in various reputed International,National journals and conferences. He has taught many subjects during his tenure at Sreenidhi. His research areas of interest are nonlinear vibrations, post buckling of structures and composite materials.


Dr. Mohammad Shaukat Ali

Associate Professor, ME Department

Ph.D from Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in India with specialization in Thermal Engineering. Several Research publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings. More than 10 years of teaching experience in national and international organizations. Courses taught: HeatTransfer, Thermodynamics, Applied Thermodynamics-II, Refrigeration & Air-conditioning, Mechanical Power Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, Engineering Statics, Engineering Drawing, and Heat Transfer Laboratory, Refrigeration & Air-conditioning Laboratory.Working knowledge of research tools such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and Liquid Crystal Thermography (LCT), ANSYS Fluent.About 5 years of research experience in experimental fluid dynamics and heat transfer using modern techniques such as PIV and LCT at IIT Roorkee.

Research Interests: Experimental Heat Transfer, Heat Transfer Enhancement, Fluid Dynamics, Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer, Flow Visualization, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).



Associate Professor, ME Department.

M.Tech degree from IIT Hyderabad and Phd degree from IIT Roorkee. Area of specialization includes CFD, Numerical Heat transfer, Nano fluids, Magnetohydrodynamic(MHD), DDC. He has submitted his Ph.D thesis at the age of 26 and having several SCI research publications on his name.  He has expertise in Fluid dynamics related solvers, FVM&FDM and guides students in Heat transfer and Aerospace related projects. Dr. Reddy teaching expertise includes Thermodynamics, Applied Thermodynamics, Heat transfer at graduate level and Advanced Thermodynamics, Advanced Heat and mass transfer at PG level. He has experience of working on several CFD&HT related projects.


Dr. B.Harshavardhan

Associate Professor, ME Department.

PhD from IIT Madras in Internal combustion engine lab from Mechanical Engineering, M.Tech. from NIT Warangal in Thermal engineeringspecialization, Several Research publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings, Working knowledge of Star-CD commercial CFD software, More than 5 years of teaching experience, Courses taught: Internal combustion engine, CFD and Thermal engineering.

Research Interests: Flow Visualization, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).


Dr. Bhanodaya Kiran Nadikudi

Associate Professor, ME Department

Dr. Bhanodaya Kiran Nadikudi is a faculty of Mechanical Engineering with more than 10 years of teaching and research experience. He did his Full time Ph.D in the area of manufacturing engineering from Mechanical Engineering department of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal in the year 2017. He received Government of India granted fellowship (MHRD) during his post-graduation and doctoral studies of education.

Dr. Bhanodaya Kiran Nadikudi is a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and International Association of Engineers (IAENG). He has published many research papers in several International Journals and conferences. His papers have appeared in reputed journal publishers like Elsevier, Springer and Scopus. He is reviewer for the Advances in Mechanical Engineering Journal (SCI) - SAGE publications journal and an editorial member for the Journal of Metallic Material Research (JMMR). His teaching areas are Metallurgy and Material Science, Manufacturing Technology, Machine Tools, Engineering Drawing, Machine Drawing and advanced manufacturing methods. His research interests are welding, metal forming, optimization and metal matrix composites.


Dr. Rahul Pachori

Associate Professor, ME Department.

Rahul Pachori obtained B. Tech., degree from Shri Ram Institute of Technology, Jabalpur and; M. Tech., from Government Engineering College Jabalpur and Ph. D. from Mewar University, Chittaurgarh. He was junior research fellow for the period of two years in IIITDM Jabalpur in a research project funded by BARC, Mumbai titled “Incremental sheet metal forming”. Dr. Rahul Pachori prior to joining SNIST, worked as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor in GRKIST Jabalpur for the period of five years in Department of Mechanical Engineering, during this period he taught core subjects at B. Tech. and M. Tech. level. He has published several research papers in international journals and presented seven papers at the international/national conference. He has undertaken the responsibility of Assistant exam superintendent, Assistant training and placement officer, Counseling In charge etc. Subjects handling: Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass transfer, Elements of Mechanical Engineering etc.
