SNIST believes that ,Strong Academics, Industry relevant training, Emerging technology knowledge through R&D and Professional mindset with human approach are the essential attributes that determine the success of technical education. SNIST Research efforts are towards productive collaboration with leading Research Institutes, both nationally and globally, to invent and provide solutions to Technological and societal problems .A separate Department is established for Research and consultancy in the Institute with full time  Director  and Dean .

The institute has 8 UG and PG programs with dedicated faculty and students, involved extensively in research activities. SNIST is recognized by DSIR, Govt. of India as Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) – 2009 to till date.

The website provides a detailed overview of the Research activities undertaken and contributions made by faculty in each department. Faculty members with Ph.D and Pursuing Ph.D are required to conduct  Academic research as an integral part of their responsibility  to generate and  assimilate new knowledge which gets imbibed in their teaching and students projects .  Many faculty  members are  recognized guides by JNTU for guiding Ph.D . Sponsored Research and Industrial consultancy are the two important modes through which faculty  are supporting their research  and contributing to the need of the industry and Society.

SNIST management is highly cooperative in supporting and promoting in-house  Academic Research activities  . The institute provides funding for establishing and  augmenting the state-of-the-art Infrastructure and Labs. . At SNIST, the faculty members  are encouraged to publish their research work  in reputed and  referredjournals and present in International and national  conferences by  reimbursing  registration  fees, after review by  Institute  Research  committee. Faculty  pursuingPh.Ds are sanctioned  special leaves to accelerate the research and further motivated by offering fees reimbursement as per the  guidelines set by the research panel. Faculty  and students are encouraged to file  patents if the proposed idea has commercial viability. SNIST management also works with reputed industries to forge alliance to offer consultancy and  advance training programs in the emerging fields which necessitate  the faculty  to take up Advance Research problems.

Number of Grants in Aid projects are sanctioned by DRDO, DST, UGC, DBT etc. Many projects are successfully completed and  many are ongoing.


                                                                                  Dr. A. Subhananda Rao

Born in 1950, Dr. A. Subhananda Rao, is a gold medallist during graduation (Mech.Engineering) from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He continued his academicexcellence during his M.E (Aeronautics) from prestigious IISc, Bangolare, by receiving “Roll ofHonour”. He completed his doctorate from Osmania University, Hyderabad on topic entitled“Fracture Behaviour of Solid Propellant Rocket Motor Grains”. He has over 86 technical publicaions to his credit in various journals and seminar/conference proceedings. He has participated and chaired sessions in national and international seminars. He joined DRDO after his post graduation. He served DRDO in various capacities,as director propulsion in DRDL and ASL, Hyderabad; ,Director High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, Pune; Director,Armament Research and Development Laboratory, Pune; Director Gasturbine Research Establishment ,Bangalore ;Distinguished Scientist and Chief controller R&D (Aeronautics ). Presently he is in Srinidhi Institute of science and Technology as Director, Advancement and Research.



                                                                            Dr. Ameet Chavan

Ameet Chavan received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from Pune University, India in 1998. He received Master of Science degree (VLSI-ECE) from University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in 2003 and Ph.D. (ULP-ECE) 2010 from UTEP. While completing his studies Dr. Chavan worked as faculty for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UTEP. He has worked as a research engineer at Intel Corporation Inc. Hillsboro, OR, USA, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Inc. Austin, TX, USA, Echostar Technologies Ltd., Denver, CO, USA and Ethicon Endo, Cincinnati, OH, USA.

Dr. Chavan has a total 15 years of combined experience in industry, academia teaching and research. Dr. Chavan has worked on a four chip design research projects that were sponsored by the DARPA, SPAWAR and ASICs lab USA. The chips were fabricated at  MIT Lincoln Labs (150nm), MOSIS (180nm) and TSMC (250nm). The Radiation Hardness of the MITLL chip was tested for heavy-ion at TAMU Cyclotron facility. Dr. Chavan has presented and published his research at various international conference meetings of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a NASA Symposium on VLSI Design. To further support his research, Dr. Chavan has recieved research awards from NASA, DARPA, SPAWAR and The University of Texas at El Paso Graduate School. Additionally, he was awarded Texas Instruments Foundation Scholarship, a Texas Public Education Scholarship, and a National Science Foundation (NSF) Distributed Computing Laboratory Scholarship. Dr. Chavan worked as a post doctoral faculty researcher at the ASICs research lab UTEP. He has taught Digital System Design, Microprocessors based System Design, Intro to Embedded System Design, STLD, Computer Organization courses at the ECE department, UTEP. Currently, Dr. Chavan is working as Dean (R&D) and Professor (ECE) at the  Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Hyderabad India.

Research Areas – Ultra Low Power Digital System Design, Embedded Systems, IoT, Reconfigurable Computing, and Radiation Hardened System Design.
