Mission

Program Educational Objectives (PEO's):

  • Preparation: To prepare students to excel in postgraduate programmes or to succeed in electrical industry/technical profession through global, rigorous education. 
  • Core Competence: To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals required to solve engineering problems and also to pursue higher studies. 
  • Breadth: To train students with good scientific and engineering breadth so as to comprehend, analyze, design, and create novel products and solutions for the real life problems.

Eminent Professors of EEE Department

Dr. P Ravi Babu

Professor, EEE Department.

Dr. P Ravi Babu has obtained his Ph.D. degree in Power Engineering, EEE branch from JNTUH, Hyderabad in the year 2010, M. Tech degree in Power Systems in 1999and B.E degree in Electrical & Electronics in 1996 from National Institute of Engineering, Mysore University, Mysore. His research specialization is to meet the challenges in Power Engineering, Energy Conservation & Management and Electrical Distribution System. He has more than 19 years of teaching experience and 5 years of research experience.

He taught many subjects during his teaching like Power Systems, Electrical Distribution Systems, Electrical Circuits, Network Analysis, and Control Systems. He published 86 papers at International and National Journals and conferences. His research paper was awarded with best paper in the international conference held at IIT Roorkee in 2005. He was the mentor of Limca Book of World record. He is guiding 06 research scholars under JNTUH, Hyderabad, Telangana and Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka. He guided and motivated many students towards successful carrier through research work. He has worked as Professor and HOD in various colleges and currently he is working as Professor in EEE Department at SNIST.

 

Dr. C. Bhargava

Professor, EEE Department.

Dr.C.Bhargava obtained Ph.D degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from JNT University, Hyderabad in 2016 and M.Tech (Advanced power system) from JNT University Kakinada in 2005. He has more than 12 years of experience in teaching and 1 year experience in industry, and has guided more than 12 M.Tech students. He has published around 14 papers in International Journals and Conferences. He has authored a book titled Electrical Machines-I, published by V.G.S publications. His teaching areas are Computer methods in Power System, Advanced Power System Protection, Power System, Network Analysis, Microprocessor and Micro Controller, Control System and Electrical Machines. He guided a number of B.Tech and M.Tech students during their project work. His research interests are in Power System Reliability, Power Quality and Distributed Generation.

 

Dr. P. Anil Kumar

Associate Professor, EEE Department.

Dr. P. Anil Kumar Puppala obtained his Bachelors degree in 2001 in Instrumentation Engineering from Osmania University and M.S and Ph.D degrees in Electrical Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo [shortly called as – UB] in 2004 and 2007 respectively. His doctoral work at the Power Conversion and Control Laboratory of UB on “Investigation of an Electrical Machine with a Superconductor Element as its Rotor” involved interdisciplinary research involving the concepts of Finite Element Analysis, Material Science and Electrical Machines. During his M.S program in 2003 at UB, he interned at Esensors Inc., New York, which is involved in designing sensors with IP address. After his Ph.D, he worked as a Research Scientist in K&H Industries Inc., in Buffalo for two years, designing drivers for DC motors and Light Emitting Diodes.

Dr. Anil Kumar took up an assignment of ‘Design Manager’ at Hical Technologies Bangalore for about two years and moved back to Hyderabad. He later took up teaching at Sreenidhi as Associate Professor.  His association with his father’s Industry at Kushaiguda and his involvement with the student clubs at SNIST helped them win sixth position in a nationwide Electric Solar Vehicle Championship 2013. He teaches Electromagnetic Fields, Non Conventional Sources of Energy and Measurements and Instrumentation. His work was presented in several Conferences sponsored by The Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in Europe and USA. He is actively involved with the Industry Institute Interaction (Triple I) cell of SNIST. His areas of interest include Finite Element Analysis of Electrical Machines, Motor Drives, and Power Electronics in Solar Energy Systems. Besides this, during his free time, he takes interest in discussions on Science and Technology in Vedic scriptures with Dr. P. S. R. Murthy, former Principal of Osmania University College of Engineering and currently the Director of School of EEE, SNIST.
