Greetings to All!

On behalf of my colleagues, I am delighted to welcome you to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. 

The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department has reached an important milestone – its 18th anniversary. From its modest beginnings as a graduate program in 1997, it has become one of the most strongest and dynamic departments in the college, and the computer science field.

The intake currently is 300 in each of the specialisations.There are four Computer Laboratories in the department. They have 40, 65, 65 & 70 systems respectively in them. The computer centers are well organised because of dedicated and competent teaching and non-teaching staff.

The single largest department in the entire Institute, Computer Science and Engineering is now home to several eminent and new faculty members, having rich experience in academics, industry and R&D. The department has grown to almost 48 faculty members who provide leadership and expertise in several areas of computer science and engineering.

One of the Professors, Dr. V.U.K.Sastry, formerly Professor from IIT, Kharagpur is having 48 years of experience in teaching and research. Dr. Kumar Eswaran, Professor, is having rich industry and teaching experience of 38 with Post Doctoral Fellowship, as well.  I am proud to express that both Professors have received Best Engineering Faculty awards from CTS in 2008 and 2014 respectively.

The department has conducted 30 Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) in relevant and thrust areas of CSE, so far, for quality enhancement of the faculty of the institute and the other colleges. I am extremely pleased to tell you that the faculty and students of CSE department are involved in the research and publishing vast number of research papers in the International and National Journals and Conferences.

In order to bridge the gap between industry and institute, the department has taken a lead in organizing training programmes (two per semester) and guest lectures (two per semester) on latest emerging tools and technologies in collaboration with MNCs.

Some of our students have been selected for IAS, IPS and are conferred with other prestigious awards and gold medal in academics as well as co-curricular activities. Some of our students are selected as students ambassadors for Google, Mozilla and Facebook.  Many of our students have reached pinnacle in their career and higher studies by their sheer education and hard-work.

The department is very proud of the accomplishments of its faculty and students who played a part in this distinguished and still-growing legacy. This message has been prepared to commemorate this milestone and to highlight the major achievements and accomplishments of the department.

B.Tech Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

Graduates will have a strong foundation in fundamentals of mathematics, science, computer science and basic engineering with abilities to analyze problems, design and development of optimal solutions to address societal problems.

II   Apply knowledge of  modern tools to solve the complex problems and enable graduates to be professionally competent engineers to sensitize towards societal, health, safety legal, environmental and sustainable issues by following the ethical ideologies and makes them globally employable.

III  Ability to work effectively as an individual, team member or a leader or pursue entrepreneurial skills and be aware of gender sensitization with good communication, practice project and finance management skills.

IV  Encouraging students to pursue higher studies in internationally reputed institutes thus making them life-long learners.

B.Tech Programme Outcomes (POs)

The Programme Outcomes (POs) of the B.Tech (CSE) programme as stated by the NBA, India are listed below:

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

  • Graduates will have a strong foundation in fundamentals of mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and basic engineering knowledge with abilities for analysis of the problem and to design, development of solutions and to arrive at an optimal solution using modern tools which help them to be employable.

M.Tech Programme Outcomes (POs)

Eminent Professors of CSE Department                                                                               

                                           

Dr. Aruna Varanasi is a hardworking and enthusiastic researcher. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has taken leaps and bounds of progress under her headship. She is a persistent pursuer to get things done by all the faculty and staff in the department and possess very remarkable HR skills. She has got a number of research papers published in leading journals. She has rendered her services in Government sector for six years after which she shifted to teaching. She now has 14 years of teaching experience in addition to her industrial experience. She has great passion in devising solutions to security issues in Information Technology and has been doing lot of research work in Cryptography, Image cryptography, Information Security and Bioinformatics. She has 19 International Journal publications to her credit. She has also been a resource person for several other institutions for the benefit of students of those institutions. Dr. Aruna Varanasi is a self motivated and self driven leader and has taken several initiatives for the development of the department.

Dr. Aruna Varanasi has received  "Best Teacher in Computer Science and Engineering Department, AP & TS"  award by ISTE, during December, 2017.

                                              

Dr.T.V. Rajini Kanth

Professor, CSE  Dept 

Dr. T. V. Rajini Kanth has obtained his Ph.D. degree in C.S.E. branch from Osmania university, Hyderabad in July, 2008 and M. Tech.(C.S.E.) degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad in January, 2001. His specialization area in research is “Spatial Data mining”. He has obtained his PGDCS degree from HCU, Hyderabad in 1996. He received his M. Sc. (Applied mathematics) degree in the year 1989 from S.V. University, Tirupati as University Ranker. He is currently working as professor in CSE, at SNIST, Hyderabad. He worked at various positions like as a HOD, etc., His total teaching experience is 23 years. His writings have appeared in numerous Professional conferences and Journals (International journals-30, national Journals-3, International conferences- 23, national conferences-2, Total =58). Under his guide ship 4 Ph.D. Research Scholars got awarded (1- JNTUH & 3-ANU) and 2 Ph.D. Scholars have submitted their Thesis (1- JNTUA & 1- JNTUH). He has received seminar grants from AICTE and DST organizations. Reviewer for many International Conferences like ICACM-2011, ICACM-2013, ICRSKT, ITQM, ICCCT etc., He has also received UGC Project Grant as a Principle Investigator and AICTE project grant as Co-Principle Investigator. He is a Review Committee Member Editorial Board member for 18 International Journals namely IJAEGT, IJAC, JDECS, IJEAT, IJAENT, etc., He was an author for few books i.e Artificial Intelligence etc.

His current research area interests include Image processing, Data Warehousing & Mining, Spatial data mining, web mining, Text mining and Robotic area etc. Presently guiding research students in the research areas like Spatial data mining, Web mining, image Processing and Text mining. He has conducted two International conferences namely ICACM-11, and ICACM-13 as Convener and also acted as session chair for many conferences like ICACT-08, ICRSKT-2014 etc. He was convener for many national level technical fests. He also acted as a Nodal Officer for academics, TEQIP. Apart from that many National level ROBO workshops were conducted namely RoboTrix, eTrix, iTrix, LogiTrix, VisionTrix and Haptic Robotic arm in association with IIT Bombay and Technophilia etc. He guided around 80 projects at B.Tech. and M.Tech. level and also developed some of them as products like Emolument management system, Mobile based automation and gamming projects, Web crawlers project, Office automation projects, Vision based Robo projects and Stegonography projects, etc., His Robo projects were displayed at 2nd Annual IT summit held at HICC, Hyderabad and was appreciated by Hon. IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah. He is presently guiding (supervisor & co-supervisor level) Ph.D. scholars at various reputed universities. He was called for 60 AICTE sponsored TEQIP workshops as resource person.

Dr. Kumar Eswaran

Professor, CSE Dept.

Dr Kumar joined  SNIST from 1999 after  leaving BHEL R& D as Additional general Manager. He has Masters and Ph. D, degrees from IIT Kanpur and University of Madras respectively. For his doctoral studies he worked with the famous group started by Alladi Ramakrishnan – presently known as MatScience or Institute of Mathematical Sciences. He was also a post doctoral Fellow in IIT Dehi and was also a post doctoral researcher in the Ohio State University, Columbus Ohio.  

He now works in the area of Artificial Intelligence involving Neural Networks and Image Processing using pattern recognition methods. Earlier, he has developed many software programs involving computational techniques such as finite element methods, boundary integral methods

He has successfully guided more than half a dozen students for their Ph.D’s in various prestigious universities including IIT’s and the guide of very many M.Tech. students. Dr Kumar is presently guiding few Ph.D students.  He has more than 40 publications in various reputed International Journals and conferences. Many of his publications are referred to by present researchers, even after several decades.   He has also won several best teacher awards- the latest being as Best Faculty Award 2013-14, Computer Science from Cognizant for the South India Area.

 

Dr. K. Anup Kumar

Professor, CSE Dept.

Dr. K. Anup Kumar is working in SNIST for the past 12 years in the department of CSE. His total teaching experience is 16 years. He completed his B.Tech (CSE) , M.Tech (CSE,OU) and did his Ph.D (CSE) from JNTUH Hyderabad. He is a very good teacher who can teach most of the subjects of Computer Science Engineering field. He has very strong research background with 18 International Journal publications to his credit. Dr. Anup guided many projects both at B.Tech and M.Tech levels. His research areas include Information Security, Network Security  and Parallel Processing Systems. 

 

Dr. Prasanta Kumar Sahoo

Professor, CSE Dept.

Dr. Prasanta Kumar Sahoo, completed his Ph.D. from Fakir Mohan University, Odisha in Computer Science Engineering. He has 14 years of teaching, research and administrative experience. He has earlier worked as Head of the Deptpartment for  both CSE and IT in various reputed Engineering Colleges. His Research interest includes Cyber Security, Information Security and Data Mining. He has published around 21 research papers in various reputed journals at national and International levels. Dr. Prasanta Kumar Sahoo won the best teacher award many times in various colleges for his contribution towards teaching and learning process. He is a certified professional from BalaBit, completed Electronic Contextual Security Intelligence, exam for Intermediate Level (ECSI). He has guided more than 30 projects both at UG and PG level and presented more than 15 guest lecturers. He organized two national conferences and conducted seven faculty development programs.

 

Dr. K. Shirisha

Professor, CSE Dept.

Dr. K. Shirisha has completed her B.E. in Computer Technology in KITS, Ramtek, Nagpur University in the year 1999. Later, after a brief period of teaching, she finished her masters programme in M.Tech. Software Engineering in KITS Warangal. She stood as the topper in the Kakatiya University in 2006.  She then successfully completed her Ph.D. in the faculty of Computer Science in the year 2016 from JNTUH University, Hyderabad. She worked in the area of Information Security.

She has near to 14 years of teaching experience and presently doing research in the areas of Cryptography, Information Security and Network Security areas. She has published 18 research papers in International Journals and few papers in the National Journals and Conferences. Dr. K. Shirisha has very strong programming skills especially in the area of Data Structures.

 

Dr. T.Venkat Narayana Rao

Professor, CSE Dept

Professor T. Venkat Narayana Rao, CSE, SNIST, has done B.E in Computer Science and Engineering from Nagpur University; he has completed M.Tech (CSE) from SIT, JNTUH, Campus, Hyderabad. Completed his Ph.D from JNTUK, Kakinada. He has also done M.B.A with Systems and Marketing as his specialization.  He has industry experience as a software engineer in MNC such as HCL Technologies Ltd, Bangalore and has worked in high end project such as “Singapore Provident Fund”. 

His has academic experience of working at various positions like Director of PG College, Head of CSE department in various reputed Engineering Institutions in Hyderabad.  His achievements include Batch  topper during M Tech, Secured First Rank in PhD selection JNTUK, represented under 18 year for New Delhi in Sports (Volley Ball) and trained over 410 scholars and students in Research and Paper writing skills till date. He is a founder of International Journal IJSRCSMS in 2011 and which is now due for SCOPUS Indexed /Abstraction 2016.

He has more than two decades of experience in teaching and industry. His passion and flare towards research is exhibited in his number of publications and association with leading International & National journals.  He has authored several articles and Books in renowned publications which include Papers/Articles/Chapters in Journals, conferences and Books. The publications includes International refereed journal papers- 90, National Journal Papers-22, International Conferences- 05, National Conferences-06 and Books -03,  with a  Total  of  112 Paper Publications so far.  He is a seasoned member on Editorial Boards and Reviewer to 44 International Journals such as IJCSET, IJHIT, IJMTT, WCSITJ, ACCENT journals, BJCSEA, World Academy of Research in Science and Engineering and Elsevier Publication etc .

He is instrumental in conducting 22 Seminars/Workshops and Symposiums as Convener and has attended 30 Workshops  and  Refresher Courses. He has delivered several Guest Lectures on Research Methodology and Outcome Based Education. He is a recipient of “Best Faculty Award” for the years 2012-2013,2013-14, 2014-2015 in a row. He is an active life member of 12 Reputed Technical Professional Bodies such as IACSIT, CSI, IETE, International Association of Universities, ITEEA, UACEE etc. He has been a member on  Advisory Board for 8 International Conferences across the world such as ICACET 2013-Malaysia, ICCEET 2013 -Dubai, ICET5E 2013-Thailand, ICACSET 2014-Thailand, ICACE 2014-Mysore, ICMT 2015-Australia, ICVR 2015, Los Angles , USA etc. His research interest includes Medical Image Processing, Network Security, Cyber Forensics, Augmented Reality, Web Technologies and Emerging Technologies.

 

Dr. T.Vijaya Saradhi

Associate Professor, CSE Dept

Dr. T.Vijaya Saradhi, the high-volume professional in computer science. He got 18 years of teaching experience in reputed Engineering institutions. He completed his MCA from Andhra University, M.Tech (CSE) from JNTU and his Ph.D (CSE) from KL University in 2016. He started his career as Asst.Professor in SSIET, Nuzvid and worked in various administrative positions like HOD, Dean Academics and BOS member. In his teaching career he published 20 international research publications in reputed index journal. His Academic and Research expertise includes Software Engineering and Data Mining. He motivates students to organize and engage in various activities through Research and Development cell.
